• Know your students before the beginning of the course
• Analyse their learning needs and their work environment where applicable
• Present the structure of the Office InterActors courses and discuss the aims and the objectives
• Involve them in activities of exploring the platform and the affordances it has before the actual start of the course
• Have your students customize their blogs on the platform – this is a way of motivating them and getting them interested to know the others in the international team
• Start the orientation meeting with a video projection of the platform so that they clearly see the access path to the course and the links they need to use
• Simulate work in the orientation meeting to make sure they can use all affordances of the moodle platform
• Always prepare support activities for those team members who may work faster than the rest. Use the main activity in the step and develop it further using other materials online or offline.
• Work close with the platform manager or manage the documents uploaded by students yourself on another computer. Make sure you save all documents uploaded by students in the archive of the moodle platform.
• Use your imagination to discover other links between the various steps on the platform and also encourage your students to contribute ideas to what other aspect should and could be included in your face-to-face discussions.
• Structure your face to face discussions with the students so as to smoothly pass from the offline to the online activities
• Make use as much as possible of the online synchronous communication tools. Remember: more online international comunication means more motivated students and better results
• Skype has been successfully used with the first piloting Office InterActors students.
• Communicate with all the other tutors in the course to establish a common path for the activities
• Encourage your students to keep their course diary on the personal blogs on the platform. This can be an extremely valuable tool for evaluation.
• Also, keep your own course diary to register the progress of the course and all the variations from the initial struture. This will provide insight into the dynamics of the course implementation.
